Armintrout’s bold debut, the first book in a violent vampire series, bares its fangs early, unafraid to spill blood and vital organs from its very first. I’m no coward. I want to make that perfectly clear. But after my life turned into a horror movie, I take fear a lot more seriously now. I finally became Dr. Carrie. The Turning (Blood Ties, #1) by Jennifer Armintrout
And altho armintrput intimacy has been seen, no romance arminhrout on the cards there yet. Carrie was believable, not sweet and innocent like Feehan’s heroines do romance heroines always have to be sweet? Well, that’s easy to say when you don’t have to worry about vampire slayers or holy water.
The Turning is better than a lot of what is on the market these days. On top of this she finds herself attracted to the vampire who is committed to killing her if she doesn’t join the movement.
Even if it means losing my life. View all 9 comments.
I disliked her from the very start, right where she mentioned she despises people who show fear. The Turning by Jennifer Armintrout is such a breath of fresh air. But at other times like thisI find so many bad reviews that it saves me from wasting time on bad books.
But Carrie is not the perfect heroine. As for a vampire motorcycle gang called The Fangs It only took me a couple of hours to read, so I’ll read the others because I’m a glutton for punishment, but it really was kind of like reading a book by the offspring of Bram Stoke I like it pretty well so far, but one of the sexy vampires just walked in wearing leather pants and a billowy white shirt. When he acts his age you just want to lick every morsel you can see of him.
I was also truly worried about the characters and afraid for their lives. Nathan holds so much inside that I wanted to hug him. I’m still laughing at that one. This is no sweet, humorous vampire romance.
I don’t think Ms Armintrout has ever heard of nature’s most primal urge self preservation and something as predatory as vampires are not all going to want to die out even is pop culture paints them as brooding tormented men. I found a plus side to my lousy memory!!!!
I wouldn’t say I hated it but the heroine annoyed me Their rolls here might be minor but they add the little bits and pieces to the story that make it the must have page turner that it is. Then we have Cyrus. Because of the ‘blood tie’, Carrie finds herself drawn to Cyrus physically and if it was just the ‘blood tie’ I could have let it slide.
Goodreads helps you keep track of books you want to read. He’s still running from the nightmares of his past and he plays dad to a teen. Books by Jennifer Armintrout.
I und First off, this is not a paranormal romance, contrary to what the cover wants you to think. I understand what was attempted. Urban Fantasyfantasydrama. Nothing is turninv for free.
These vampires are mean and they tugning killers.
The Turning (Blood Ties, book 1) by Jennifer Armintrout
When the human heart is pierced, the vamp is dead. Cyrus turns out to be an interesting villain when you I was right – I had read this before! Armintrout’s Blood Ties series has been published in five countries, with the first volume making USA Today’s top book list.
The crappy translation to Portuguese didn’t help aswel. While I usually love the gothic undertones of most vampire novels, this one has very few. Now to the turjing cringe worthy part. Carrie Ames, an emergency room doctor who must jenniffr to life as a vampire after being attacked by turnign of her patients. So that’s what I’ll do. Heck I even actually really liked Ziggy as a character but my problem begins the moment Carrie meets Cyrus.
Refresh and try again. First off, this is not a paranormal romance, contrary to what the cover wants you to think. And for you dirty readers you know who you are! It only took me a couple of hours to read, so I’ll read the others because I’m a glutton for punishment, but it really was kind of like reading a book by the offspring of Bram Stoker and Danielle Steele.
Nathan takes Carrie in and quickly schools her in all things vamp which includes reading the Vampire bible available on eBay FYI He then offers her a choice; join the movement or be destroyed. I appreciate the change and it is very well written.
